New version enters alpha

The upcoming version release we thought to be stable enough that it was put into alpha testing on a live site. New features include the caching of some of the database queries, the ability to delegate game adding privileges to non admins, and changes to the template system to allow for better SEO and to make way for the coming of multiple user choice templates. The site it's being tested on is working on hiring a couple of people to use the game adder feature and the blog. And a couple of game developers have already signed up to upload games that they release.

Also a very rudamentary system is in place, and being worked on still, to allow different games to show different ads, and even game sponsorship. The same is intended for the blog, and perhaps even more.

It also lays the database structure foundation for such features as a high score system, forum, and more. What has been done so far in the last few months should also allow us to add a lot more things such as video, jokes, music, and more. It's been a long time in coming, but we feel it will be well worth it once some of these planned features start to come out.

This version will bring major changes. At least one of the new features are only found on 3 of the top PAID scripts, not on ANY other of the free ones nor even most of the paid ones. With so much having changed, it is felt that it is no longer part of the 1.x family. It is planned to be released as version 2.0.

Anyone interested in testing out what's coming can get ahold of us to get the files. Right now there is no install set up for it, so you will need to have v1.3 installed and then upgrade.

I have been busy this last week, so I did not get that done yet. Sorry about that. I will attempt to get it done tonight though. I have to go get ready to go take a look at a school bus in a few.
